The Landry News - An Awesome Book September 30, 2007 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I liked this book because it had a lot of different emotions - from Dr. Barne's anger at Mr. Larson to Cara being sad about her parent's divorce. It is a great lesson on free speech. I highly recommend you read this book.
Erin MB's Review A Kid's Review September 30, 2007 In the beginnig of the book, Andrew Clements did a great job on describing how messy Mr. L arson's classroom was. I could feel the pian Cara's mother was feeling. It hurt. Questions were buzzing through my head as I read and then in time were answered. Mr. Larson, a teacher who doesn't teach, drinks coffee, and reads the newspaper all day, finnally starts teaching. He was teaching a unit of journalisum. All because of Cara's newspapers. Then Cra makes more newspapers with a motto of Truth and Mercy. Soon, a story gets in the wrong hands. That story almost cost Mr. Larson his job.
My Review on the Landry News September 29, 2007 My opinion of the Landry News is ok, but out of five stars i would give it four.Don't get me wrong i like this book and i would recommend this book to everyone i know.It is just not my favorite book. The reason it is not my favorite book is because i'm more into mystery, but if you like journalism and realy good writing then you should totaly read this book. One of my favorite part of this book is when Michel writes the article about dviorce, that almost made me cry. Also when Cara went into Dr.Barne's office and told hem about the newspaper that was going to replace the Landry News. The Landry news is one of my favorite books i've ever read, you should read it and if you have already read it, read it again and again. ~ MB Megan :-)

The Landry News is not a very exciting book. It has too much detail and not enough action. I would have liked it more if there had been more problems and less conversation. I do not think that this book is one of Andrew Clements best novels. It did have some good parts but was slow through most of the book. I think if you like reading short books or are in 3rd grade or lower you might enjoy this novel more than I did.
The Landry News - A Kid's Review September 27, 2007 I think that The Landry News is an outstanding book because it is about my favorite subject, writing. It's about a new girl, Cara Landry, coming to Denton Elementary School. She has a teacher that does not teach. Cara takes things into her own hands and writes a newspaper on her free time. Cara goes through madness, lonliness, happiness and much more. In my opinion, Andrew Clements is very good at making the reader really feel what Cara feels. I highly reccommend it. I loved it so much that I couldn't put it down. It was a fantastic book! READ IT!
