4 out of 5 stars pitching contest   April 17, 2007

I think this book is good because T.J and Alex have a contest of who can pitch the best. But even though T.J won, they both became famous.

This is the best and the funniest book you will ever read. If you like funny books you will like this book. Jock= bad Skinnybones=good. If you like stories about big mouths, this is the right book for you! This book hits you right in the heart like a bow. If you have a bully in your life this is a good story for you. T.J. = jock... jock is bad. Alex = Skinnybones... Skinnybones is good. T.J. is famous and Skinnybones is not so famous.

4 out of 5 stars Skinnybones vs. T.J.   January 25, 2007

This book is about Alex who likes to make jokes. Alex has an enemy named TJ. TJ is a really good baseball player. Alex is not so good. This book showed me that you don't always have to look on the bad side of your problems. Sometimes it's better to look on the bright side. I enjoyed this book a lot. If you like comedy or baseball you will like this book. I like the ending a lot! I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did!

5 out of 5 stars A Nonstop Laugh Riot   August 8, 2006

I recall vividly reading this book for the first time in the 4th grade after I'd finished the first part of one of our state's standardized tests while waiting for everyone else to finish, and drawing nasty glares (and eventually an ominous note) from my teacher who informed me that she was glad the book was so funny, but that I would need to continue reading it outside of class when I wouldn't be such a distraction to the other students!

Now, after college, I found this book at my parents' house, picked up, and laughed just as hard. The book is good clean fun and, although clearly written with children in mind, is good for a laugh regardless of your age. Skinnybones is a classic of children's comedic literature and deserves a place on the shelf of any child with a healthy imagination and good sense of humor.
