Product Description Product Description From the Manufacturer Mario stars in his first RPG in this highly acclaimed role-playing adventure. Excellent 3-D graphics and a rich variety of game play will enthrall Mario and RPG fans alike! In Super Mario RPG, Mario's beloved Mushroom Kingdom has been thrown into chaos by the appearance of an extraterrestrial villain. This evil and outer space menace, Smithy, brings fear and treachery to the once-pleasant Mushroom Kingdom. Once Smithy crashes into the Star Road, he causes seven stars to be scattered throughout the land. Mario and his friends must recover the Seven Stars and repair the Star Road by making an epic journey to Bowser's castle to confront the dreaded Smithy. Princess Toadstool, Mallow, Geno, and--believe it or not!--Bowser help Mario restore tranquility and happiness to the Mushroom Kingdom. Powerful weapons, sinister spells and other items help Mario complete his harrowing journey. Conflicts take place in animated battle screens. Super Duper Mario! October 24, 2008 I'll make this short, like Mario. This is absolutely one of the very best RPGs of all time, and in my opinion, Mario's finest hour! A classic in every sense of the word. Nintendo should re-release this on the Wii and the DS. Get it!
Be prepared to sign over your life October 20, 2008 This game is one of my favorite games of the SNES era. I was never a huge RPG fan simply because I never had the pleasure of renting/owning one, but I've always been a Mario fangirl. I can honestly say that after devoting approximately 20 hours to this game, I can't think of a game on the SNES that I like more (ok, maybe A Link to the Past, but that one's in its own league). This game will take over your life, hours at a time, and I mean that in the best possible sense. BUY IT NOW if you can get your hands on it for a reasonable price (a little birdie told me something about eight bucks on the virtual console...)
Worth the money!! September 25, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is the best and most fun RPG I've ever played. It is well worth the money.
A 10-year-old's review September 7, 2008 This is one of the best games Nintendo ever created. Certainly, it's well worth your money, even though it's an expensive game. It has excellent 3D graphics that really fit the game play. I know graphics DO NOT make a game, but these graphics make the game better than it would be with horrible graphics. The story is engaging and absolutely hilarious at times. The inventory system is also well thought out. The battles are fun, and are never dull. The world map is also very pretty. The music is also very fitting to the game play, and very catchy at that. The Culex theme is also very pleasant to hear. But now, on to the most important part of this review, and the most important thing about the game itself: the game play. The game play is absolutely spectacular! Basically, it makes for a superlative game. Even though this game is expensive, you should get it. I hope that my review convinced you to get the game. It's one of the best games Nintendo made. By the way, I play it on the original console, and I would recommend that you do the same.
Simply amazing! Can't wait for it to show up on Nintendo Wii so I can play it again. August 4, 2008 I remember playing this game when I was growing up and I loved every second of it. The story was terrific and the characters are well-remembered. A must-play for a kid of any generation! I know the Wii can download games online and that Mario RPG will be one of the many. Finally!
